The James Turrell Skyspace at Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting:

Greet The Light

Notice of Skyspace Closure, COVID-19

Given public health concerns regarding COVID-19, the Chesnut Hill Skyspace has suspended all viewings until further notice. While the Skyspace is a place for reflection and peace, we want to protect our viewers and volunteers from any potential exposure to the virus. Stay tuned for a notice of resumed openings.

About the Skyspace

Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting is a Quaker faith community in northwest Philadelphia whose members built a new meetinghouse in 2013 for Friends, the local community, the Philadelphia region, and all who seek a place for worship and peaceful reflection in our busy world. This "green" building is home to the growing Friends meeting, but it is not just for Quakers. It is also home to a Skyspace by contemporary light artist James Turrell. This mesmerizing installation has become a sanctuary for anyone who values quiet contemplation and stunning visual beauty.
